Hey, well something must be up… because I’m back on here. I actually installed google analytics on the blog today… This was partly because I have been getting some comments and emails from people, and partly because I can’t believe I didn’t have it on here yet. I’m not sure if that makes sense… but the point is I have it on here now.

 What could be simpler? Well, we’ll see if it actually starts collecting stats before I blow chunks over it.

I also registered with a service that has a free basic version called HitTail. http://www.hittail.com obvi. Man I’m lazy I don’t even write anchor text any more! Well baby steps.

 No multi media in this post. I promise something flashy in the next one.

Alright back finally with another post… not a real post. I’m really just bored. My goodness it is going to take months for this thing to generate any traffic… if ever.

There is very little reason to assume I will ever get any traffic on this thing in fact… unless I really nail my “niche” (crappy word) and appeal to a certain group of people.

LOL… Ok I decided to stop being lazy and do some keyword research. Guess what I came up with that was relevant to my topic.

Yep: Wordpress Themes Widget Enabled!!!!!….Enabled.. enabled.. enabled… abled.. lol.

Basically, what I’M trying to say over here is that I got the new theme up and running! For those of you who are having trouble getting your wordpress up, subscribe to my feed you will find it fun and informative…

From now on I will be posting my ignorant calls for help in the Wordpress support section right here so you can see exactly what my issues with Wordpress are. There should be enough content on this page about that to make it extremely relevant… over time.

So, I did indeed install a shitload of plugins… namely hmm let me see here. (jeez ironic I’m writing this in my scribefire [if you use firefox you should use scribefire to blog it’s cool] but I’m going to be messing around in my actual Wordpress Admin simultaneously. Goo.

Ok let me just open up another browser window here… and… POOF!

Ok… here’s the rundown of my plugins thus far, and where to get them:

Adsense-Manager

Not planning on using THIS ONE any time soon… I’m going to give it a month or three… It’s nice to see however that I am actually developing a focus for this site… I definitely plan on experimenting with this for personal and, *ahem* professional reasons. Tested it out with the default size in my widgets… doesn’t fit my column. NEXT!

All in One SEO Pack

Lazy-man… I do SEO all day (poorly, but consistently) and I haven’t been using keywords or description… Indeed this is the first post I have done with any attempt at an optimized title… Indeed. However It’s pretty standard… a lot of themes come with this. Mine didn’t… cuth it’th purty. Easy Peasy Japanesey! Just throw in your description, keywords/categorie(s), etc.

• Note: There’s SOOO much more SEO’ing you can do to your blog than this… I’d recommend watching to start a video by Michael Wolfenheimer (something like that… ok drop the “enheimer” and try it) about “optimizing your wordpress blog for search engines”… type something like that in and his site should come up.
  

Again, I have been too lazy to implement any “advanced” strategies… or rather, I’ve been focussed on writing and setting up the basics. I will get to the advanced stuff and that will be extremely interesting for both of you readers! Special thanks go out to my boss and my grandfather on this one! Hah!

This little number promises great things for me… well, good things anyway. It’s still uploading right now but it should be a good way to spice things up with a little music now and then, and maybe even some actual podcasts… I don’t know… I don’t really see the point in those things unless they’re terribly terribly calculated and “learny”, which I don’t plan to be… I’ll probably actually use this pretty sparingly except for entertainment purposes. Nevertheless… there it is. CH-CHECK IT!

K… Getting tired may not finish this list. As I said I installed a SHITload! You will most likely be none the wiser because it will be months until you the reader comes across this… and by that point this post will look like the dribble off of Stephen Hawking’s chin!!! If we could extract intelligence from that dribble and inject into my brain however we might be getting somewhere.

This little Shlam-Shnickity-Shblammer is amazing, it not only worked, (had a friend send me a mail which arrived instantly… like the speed of faught instant…combination of fart and thought) but it actually added the “contact” button up at the top of my blog for me as well! I have no freaking idea how it did that, or how I’ll ever get anything else up there… but it did it. Kudos cforms II by… some guy. By the way the download button is really far down the page keep scrolling until your scroll wheel flies off and knocks your tooth out, then keep going using the arrow keys for a bit and you will find it.

Ok… well my new CMS over on my other domain is still uploading… soooo hm. Luckily I have like 5 domains so I’m going to be implementing all different kinds of stuff across them to test them out. INCLUDING (hopefully) dun dun dun… something extremely cool. That’s all I’m saying for now. Even though I’m saying it to myself… HAH!

Wow it’s STILL uploading… hmm ok I need to get creative here. Let’s think of some cool links or something to offer up haha.

Ok good afternoon. It’s FOUR TWENTY SIX PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME AND WE’RE LIVE FROM THE 24HRKNIGHT.COM BLOG!!!! Oops sorry… anyway I’m getting a partial subsidy from my work to participate in the 24 hour challenge, run by renowned Aussie Internet Guru Ed Dale… by the way I emailed him and he emailed me back. So there.

Right now he’s running me through all of his super secret Firefox extensions that he uses, and I’m glad for it. I’m updating the blog here from my browser using the uh… what’s it called, well blog add-on. Scribe script or something. I’ll get back to you on that. OK back to the Aussie accent. Alright, salam and good evening. Well, another night of wrestling with wordpress like it’s a 300 pound biker who drank 40 beers… he can’t really HURT me (Ok EDIT I guess he COULD hurt me), but it’s wearing me down something fierce. I think the general focus of this blog will be the problems, difficulties and frustrations with using wordpress… and I hope to generate some chatter. So when I get my first visitors through the door, I expect you to SING LOUD, “Hellyeah! We hate wordpress too!”.

I just DO NOT get how this is supposed to make any sense. I feel that I could program a working model for artificial intelligence more easily than make this system do what I want.

EDIT decided to try the damn file uploader. Well, I guess it worked. Here’s a pic of me doing what I do best. Actually, I don’t drink… this is old.

So,

the blog is hereby going to shift from “how to build custom furniture with your mind” to “wordpress help”… thus confusing people by offering the smelly-good bait of help with their wordpress craplog, but instead offering them a safe haven to bitch and complain about it…

Also it is a sort of cry for help, rather than promising help… So if anyone out there can help guide me on this crazy stuff, talk to me like I’m three and get me through these growing pains that would be amazing.

For now it’s more important that I just keep writing, figuring out what is going to go on here and start getting some pages indexed. Down the road this page will be monetized to shit as an experiment.

My job involves doing what is called “search engine optimization” for a local company, so you would think I would be better with this stuff. But nope, I stink at it! You actually don’t need to know anything about computers (really) to do SEO, you just need to know about SEO (which most people do nowadays anyway, it’s becoming everyone’s favourite hobby. Yes that’s right I spelled favourite with a “u”… I’m Canadian and that’s how we spell favourite. We also use a “u” in the words “neighbour”, and “oppourtunity”. I’m not sure if it’s a British thing or what… I imagine it is).

Oh man, why oh why did I expect Wordpress to have some sort of built-in upload to my server functionality? I just tried to put a picture in but noooo I have to go BACK to my hosting panel and upload it. Darn. Oh wait, apparently it does, but it doesn’t work very well? (just got that from the support forums)
Ok bed time kiddies… in three months time I hereby declare that I will be making money off this website. I plan to have a bunch of landing pages and squeeze pages, possibly to some affiliate programs (like those annoying webcam sites). Remember this from the last Youtube video you watched? Alright this thing is starting to look cooler… I’m still so far away from making this look the way I really want it to, it’s not even funny. Since when did you have to go to the school of could people to make a blog look cool???

I thought we would be past everyone having to be a damn computer programmer by now. If I WAS a computer programmer, I would make a web site that you could just change everything by clicking on it and dragging it around… right clicking would allow you to change whatever you wanted about it, or a simple WYSIWYG editor would adorn the top of the box or something.

Seriously the Theme Options page on this drag and boring theme are longer than anything I have ever seen. I tried to make a video to go along with this post, but the software I got (thanks “Jing”… you should be called… well I can’t think of something deprecating that rhymes with jing. So I will say SHIT.) CREATES MOVIES IN SWF FORMAT. I don’t even know what that is other than it has something to do with Flash! So great, no options, can’t change the format, I’m SOL. That cool web page that is suppose to convert like anything (http://media-convert.com… also tried http://www.zamzar.com) doesn’t even work with this crap, those morons at Jing are going to be surprised when they disappear off the face of the planet in two days… unless they are trying to carve out some niche of people that like to create videos no one can do anything with. I hate them.
